OVERTAKING WAS NOT WHERE OUR VALUE WAS PLACED
Morning around 6 am. Morwa-Jayant Road.
I was on my way to cover Aarohan-2019, the annual summer camp by Northern Coalfields Limited.
And this girl with bag on shoulders- don’t know who she is! Don’t know where she comes from. Don’t know where is she headed. But there were moments we both moved closely. Some congestion on left pushed us to extreme right. And we had to move side by side. In close proximity, we maneuvered for good 5 minutes.
After a while, congestion cleared. We looked at each other. Both smiled. I accelerated. We parted. Rife with thoughts, those maneuvers, those moments were priceless & timeless.
There was not one moment when either of us tried to assert one’s existence over the other. This is unlike what I see on daily basis. Most of the time, on road and in life, people place enormous value in moving past someone– The Overtaking.
In instant case- maybe both of us had our brains sorted. Parting thoughts–
Apparently, I was bit bigger in terms of vehicle size. And evidently, I was much much smaller in terms of toil; clearly she is putting more of herself out there.
Maybe same thoughts ring true for her or maybe not. Can’t say. But our basic belief was largely clear–Overtaking was not where our value was placed.
On road, just like in life, there are times when we move side by side. Completing that journey without feeling big or small, important or unimportant is peace– A peace one can reasonably achieve without doing much.
The peace of that natural & mutual smiles. Always good to part ways smiling. #purvisays
